01 / CHECK A TIGHT BOUNDARY
An 18-inch reality check
A dimensional example for the Dedica Arte EC885M and Encore ESP. With the full preparation allowance, the pair is fractionally too wide. It is a useful reminder to measure a marginal fit carefully. The Dedica reference comes from a dated US manufacturer chart; verify availability before shopping.
The machine’s narrow front saves width, but the grinder becomes the taller item. Check hopper access before tucking the pair below a cabinet.
If your routine needs a larger tamping area, try moving the grinder to another surface. Do not reduce working room solely to make the result turn green.

02 / MORE PREPARATION ROOM
A 24-inch everyday espresso station
A calculated side-by-side layout using the Silvia and Opus 2. The shorter grinder keeps its published top below the machine, which can help with the visual bulk of the station.
The listed machine height now controls the height calculation. Cup clearance and a dosing-cup-to-portafilter transfer are still separate workflow checks.
Leave the spare width unassigned at first. Use it for the pitcher or cup you actually reach for instead of filling every inch with accessories.

03 / ROOM FOR A LARGER UPGRADE
A 30-inch dual-boiler station
This example shows how a deeper dual-boiler machine changes the plan even when the overall width looks manageable. It is a dimensional comparison, not a tested performance recommendation.
The Pro X controls depth and the Sette controls height. A shallow console table can fail this layout even though a wide countertop accepts its width.
Check furniture load limits and the two appliances’ electrical requirements before buying a cart. Width alone cannot establish a suitable installation.
